PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Community College has hired Laura Massey as director of Institutional Effectiveness. Laura Massey. Massey, a resident of northwest Portland, had been the District Director of Institutional Research at the Dallas County Community College District in Dallas, Texas. She worked for the Dallas district since 1995 and was responsible for district-wide development and implementation of the district’s research. She takes over a similar role at PCC. "I am pleased and excited to begin working at Portland Community College," Massey said. "The college’s focus on student success within a supportive community creates a positive and productive environment for both students and employees." Massey earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of North Texas in 1990 and a bachelor’s degree from North Texas in 1987. As a director of institutional research, Massey has been a national speaker at regional and national conferences. Massey will be a part of many important projects for PCC, including the alignment of the recent accreditation recommendations with the Educational Master Plan and revisiting the colleges mission statement, to name a few. "I look forward to these challenging projects as well as supporting the continued good work of our faculty, staff and administrators," she added.
