Photos and Story by

Through a grant funded by the State of Oregon, the EASE Conference (Expanding Access to Science Education) will facilitate a forum to help identify promising practices and stimulating development of new technology available to community college distance learning. The conference will bring together faculty and distance learning administrators from Oregon to explore strategies and materials that can be used to create new courses, and innovative approaches to lab instruction.

The EASE Conference will be a one-day event hosted by Portland Community College and is open to science faculty and administrators at Oregon community colleges. To participate in the conference, simply complete the registration form by Wednesday, Oct. 18.

When: Friday, Oct. 27, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Where: Central Portland Workforce Training Center Auditorium.

The EASE Conference (Oct. 27th) is funded through a state grant ($20,000) to create a 1-day forum/event for community college faculty who teach science courses through distance education. It is hoped that new ideas, more opportunity, more student capacity and more access will be created for science education through distance learning methods.
