PORTLAND, Ore. – Understanding the stock market and financial lingo can seem impossible. How do you determine what stock to invest in? What signs should you look for in a company? Portland Community College will cover all the basics in an online course this spring.

The Analysis and Valuation of Stocks is designed to show students how to research and value stocks. Instructor Aaron Clarey will cover reading financial statements, calculating financial ratios, industrial comparisons, and pricing techniques.

Held entirely online via the Internet, the six-week, non-credit class offers the flexibility to open lessons whenever your schedule allows and features discussion boards with the instructor and other students. The class will be offered from March 21 through April 27. Cost is $85. To register, email ddavis@pcc.edu, or visit www.ourcoursescometoyou.com.
