Dragon Boat team taking new members

A welcome party will be held for anyone interested in joining the PCC Dragon Boat team. The event will be at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7 in Room 47 of Smith Memorial Building at Portland State University. Another party will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 10 at the Burger King near the I-5 Tigard Exit.

If you are interested in joining the team, you need to bring $35 for the registration fee. The Dragon Boat Team practices three times per week beginning April 2.

The days are Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 9 p.m. and Saturday mornings from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Practices are held at the Riverplace Marina in downtown Portland.

The PCC Dragon Boat Team will participate in the Rose Festival Dragon Boat Races at the marina on June 9-10. Rowers must by physically fit, well coordinated, possess no fear of water, have a good sense of rhythm and is a good team player. For more information, call 503-234-3279.
