Photos and Story by

All of Rock Creek’s chemistry classes will participate in a first annual chemistry conference titled: “Better Living Through Chemistry in the 21st Century.” The conference will be open to the entire college community and neighbors. It will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 10 at Rock Creek’s Event Center in Building 9.

The purpose of the conference is to educate people on how chemistry can be used to

support a technologically-advanced 21st century lifestyle while embracing practices that are environmentally friendly, support a healthier lifestyle and minimize the human footprint (sustainable practices).

Students will have to research topics according to the class. Students in Chemistry 100 will address the topic of “Household Chemical Hygiene,” while students in Chemistry 104 and 105 classes will address sustainability issues.
