Class unravels mysteries of wine

Photos and Story by

Wine can be so mysterious with the various food combinations and varieties. A summer non-credit Portland Community College class will help demystify the art of wine selection.

The offering, Uncork the Secrets of Great Wine Service!, will show students how to confidently open wine bottles, make recommendations, and learn all the etiquette needed to delight even your toughest guests. Instructor Erin Ranson will cover basic wine and food pairing, wine presentation and vocabulary.

The class will meet from 7 to 9:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 31, at the Wine Cellar, 13486-A, N.W. Cornell Road. Cost is $39.
