Photos and Story by

Staff, faculty and students are invited to the second work party of the year from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday Nov. 3. The Sylvania Habitat Team will be working at Sylvania Natural Area Park and those interested in joining the effort should meet at Parking Lot 10 on the Sylvania Campus.

The team has been planning lots of invasive species removal in the park. Their focus will be English Ivy, Himalayan Blackberry and assorted other plants. Some volunteers may get to do some planting of small herbaceous native plants. Be sure to wear long sleeves and pants, closed shoes/boots, that can get dirty. Dress for mud, rain, and prickly plants. There will be snacks, pizza, water and assorted prizes.
