Student-led 'Duality' exhibit starts Nov. 21

Beginning Tuesday, Nov. 21, several art classes will present the student art exhibit, “Duality,” in Room CT 125 at the Sylvania Campus.
“Duality” will contain student works including but not limited to acrylic painting, ceramic and stone sculpture, drawing, photography and a musical composition by Rockee Wey. This show is a combined effort of the Artist Skills and Practical Issues class, led by instructor Vicki Wilson. Duality can be viewed between Nov. 21 and Dec. 6 during school hours.
Students include Kristen Blake, Kristen Burnell, Elric Gates, Evelyn Waters, Tori LaZelle, Ryan Mildenberger, Caprial Moran, Raysun Schwab, Aaron Sylvester, Suheilah Waeli, Rockee Wey and Allegra Ziffle

There will be an artist’s talk from 11 a.m. to noon on Dec. 4 and followed by a reception from noon to 2 p.m.
Student Suheilah Waeli describes the theme of the show as manifestations of “cause vs. effect, form vs. formless, being vs. becoming, modest vs. willful, humble vs. fearless, light vs. dark, violence vs. peace, nothing vs. something, the concrete vs. the abstract and surrendering vs. judging.”
Ryan Mildenberger adds, “Duality is the essence of life-it exists in everything. Everyday we are presented with bipartisan choices in a world that is seemingly divided in countless ways.”
