Two Items: Celebrate family history with this creative class

Ever wanted to uncover family history and preserve its history? Then Portland Community College has a non-credit class for you.

Instructor Lisa Kaegan will help students explore their complete history book creation process in the non-credit class Family Heirloom Art. Students will learn how to uncover hidden family treasures, conduct interviews, research, write and illustrate their own book which can be passed down to future generations. The class will meet from 6 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 7 at Mt. Tabor Community School, 5800 SE Ash Street. Cost is $27.

Create holiday gifts using your digital pictures

Create a beautiful photo album with your digital pictures, perfect for your holiday gifts, in this Portland Community College non-credit class. In the offering, Digital Photo Album Creation for Holiday Gifts, instructor Larry Harmon will show how to use online software to create a unique album by choosing fun backgrounds, photo shapes, editing, and much more. The class will meet from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturdays, Nov. 8 through 22, Southeast Center, 2305 S.E. 82nd Ave. Cost is $49.
