Welcome to the 50th blog entry

Photos and Story by

This is my 50th blog entry since we fired this thing up on Aug. 11. isn’t it nice to know that, even when I have absolutely nothing germane to say, that I can step up? It’s a team effort, people.

I also did my first-ever phone-banking on Sunday for the bond measure campaign (I can do advocacy work after hours, on my own dime). My favorite call:

Me: Hi. Is, um, Robert in?

5-Year-Old: Hello?

Me: Hi. I’m, ah, is Robert in?

5-Year-Old: Uh huh.

Me: Can I speak to him?

5-Year-Old: Click.

I should have had my girlfriend, Katy, phone-banking for the bond. She’s a lobbyist for the Public Health division of the Department of Human Services. She’s so freaking good, she’d have gotten the 5-year-old registered to vote!

Send your feedback to dana.haynes@pcc.edu. And thanks in advance.
