Sylvania hosts Revolutionary Film Series in November

The Sylvania Multicultural Center presents the November Schedule for the Revolutionary Film Series. Join the student leaders of the Multicultural Center every Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m., Room 202, CC Building at Sylvania Campus for the films and a discussion. Light refreshments provided. “Guantanamo Guidebook” – Thursday, Nov. 6.

British Channel 4 engaged the Team Delta Cadre to recreate the Guantanamo Bay interrogation experience. At the production company’s request, along with Team Delta’s normal approach to interrogation, the cadre also reenacted several specific events reported to have occurred at Guantanamo. Co-sponsored by the Muslim Student Association.

“Homeland” – Thursday, Nov. 13.

Documentary that tells the stories of five remarkable Native American activists in four communities who are fighting these "new Indian Wars" – each in his own was passionately dedicated to protecting Indian lands. Co-sponsored by the United Tribes Native American Student Association.

“Black Gold” – Thursday, Nov. 20.

As Westerners revel in designer lattes and cappuccinos, impoverished Ethiopian coffee growers suffer the bitter taste of injustice. In this eye-opening expose of the multi-billion dollar industry, Black Gold traces one man’s fight for a fair price.
