Portland Community College’s popular Global Business Speakers series continues in February when L.J. Johnson, United States supply chain transition manager for Nike Corp., makes an appearance at the Cascade Campus (705 N. Killingsworth St.).

Johnson’s presentation, “Rethinking Security in a Global Marketplace,” is set for 7:30 to 9 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 25, in the auditorium, Moriarty Arts and Humanities Building. Parking is available in the campus’ north parking lot. Doors open for coffee at 7:15 a.m. with the main program starting at 7:45 a.m.

This free presentation includes both Johnson’s keynote address and a follow-up question-and-answer session. Introductory remarks will be made by John Galvin, Intel Corp.’s marketing director for partner marketing and “Intel Inside.”

A graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a master’s degree from Oregon Health and Sciences University/Oregon Graduate Institute, Johnson has more than 20 years in global business experience with a focus on information technology and security. Prior to her role as supply chain transition manager, Johnson was responsible for Nike’s global information security program and policies.

According to Johnson, “Security in the modern business environment is ultimately about threats to brands and company reputations. The very real needs of the business, including brand protection, cost reduction and revenue growth, should drive security policy and not vice-versa.”

This event is the second in a two-year series hosted by PCC that features prominent business and governmental leaders speaking on topics of interest to business people and the PCC community.

Seating for this event is limited; register by visiting http://www.bizcenter.org/globalspeakerseries or by calling (503) 978-5430.
