Attorney General John Kroger to join two lawmakers this Saturday
Photos and Story by Dana Haynes
Sen. Diane Rosenbaum is holding a town hall this weekend. And while I always encourage people to go to these, this one has a bonus: Oregon’s new attorney general, John Kroger, will take part.
This will be an excellent chance to meet one of only eight people elected statewide in Oregon (can you name the other seven?).
Kroger was elected for the first time this past November. He replaced Hardy Myers, who had had the job since 1996 and who was re-elected twice to the post. Kroger’s an interesting guy and a terrific public speaker. He’s worth going to the Senator’s event all by himself.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at SEIU Local 49, 3536 SE 26th Ave., Portland. It’s just south of Southeast Powell Boulevard and east of Powell Park.
(PS: The other seven are U.S. Sens. Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley; Gov. Ted Kulongoski; Secretary of State Kate Brown; Treasurer Ben Westlund; Superintendent of Public Instruction Susan Castillo; and Commissioner of Labor and Industries Brad Avakian.)
