Jeff Triplett, Division Dean of Math and Industrial Technology, has been picked to be the Dean of Instruction at Portland Community College’s Sylvania Campus (12000 S.W. 49th Ave.) – its largest campus by student enrollment.

Triplett, who grew up in St. Helens and graduated from Clatskanie High School, has served as division dean since 1995. Before his stint at PCC, he has worked as the deputy director of the Apprenticeship and Training Division at the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industry and Community Services Consortium manager for Linn-Benton and Lincoln counties. As an instructor, Triplett has taught at Oregon State University, Linn-Benton Community College and Chelpham Mills Boys School in Devon, England.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for me and I’m honored to have been chosen for this key position at the college,” Triplett said. “The opportunity to help the campus, and college as a whole, move forward with our key initiatives is something that is very appealing to me.”

Triplett holds a master’s degree in Education, Guidance and Counseling and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Oregon State University. He will continue to oversee the Math and Industrial Technology Division on an interim basis until a permanent division dean is hired.

“I am confident that Jeff will provide thoughtful and forward-looking leadership for the PCC Sylvania instructional programs,” said Sylvania Campus President Linda Gerber.
