PCC Study Abroad offers students chance for summer travel to Costa Rica and Mexico

The PCC Study Abroad office is taking applications for its’ summer programs to Costa Rica and Guanajuato, Mexico.
The trip to Costa Rica is June 26 to July 24. The deadline to submit applications is Friday, Feb. 19. This opportunity allows students to study both Spanish and Biology. The program is open to students 18 or older who have earned at least 12 college units with a grade-point average of 2.5 or higher.
Students will spend two weeks studying Spanish at the Instituto de Cultura y Lengua Costarricense, in Alajuela, Costa Rica. They will earn four credits of college Spanish at their level of proficiency and move to the Caribbean-side tropical environment research facility at La Selva for two full days of birding and natural history tours. The rest of the week is spent at the University of Georgia’s tropical research station, Ecolodge, in the Monteverde Cloud Forest to study the mountain rainforest. Finally, they will travel to Cabo Blanco, on the Pacific Coast, to study tropical dry forest ecology and marine biology. Students will earn four credits in Field Biology designed for non-science majors and is open to all students with an interest in learning more about three distinct biological environments of the tropics.
The trip to Guanajuato, Mexico is July 10 to July 25. The deadline to submit applications is Thursday, March 11. This opportunity allows students to study Spanish and is open to people 18 or older who have earned at least 12 college units with a grade-point average of 2.5 or higher.
Students will spend two weeks studying Spanish at the Escuela Don Quijote in Guanajuato, Mexico. On the first day of classes, they will be tested and placed according to your listening, speaking and writing skills in Spanish, regardless of which Spanish course you have registered for. This ensures that they derive maximum benefit from your classes. Students can earn four credits of college Spanish in either first or second year.
