DJC Magazine names Downtown Center No. 1

Photos and Story by

PCC’s renovation of the historic Willamette Building in downtown Portland was named the No. 1 project for public buildings by the DJC Magazine. Built in 1882, the structure required a full seismic upgrade and high performance lighting, mechanical and safety systems, too. It’s the college’s first presence downtown since the Stadium Center closed in the early 1980s.

Public Buildings – $5M to $15M

First place: Portland Community College Downtown Center
Project team: Portland Community College, SERA Architects, GeoDesign, InSite Group, KPFF Consulting Engineers, Fortis Construction
