Here is a look at some of the news stories about PCC from around the local area and the nation in July. In total, PCC events and people appeared 35 times in the local community or national online media, newspapers or TV/radio. For the year ending July 31, PCC garnered 800 media stories, which is a slight increase from the same time period a year ago and up 51 percent since 2008.

July 1, the Newberg Graphic spotlighted the architect plans for the new educational center in Newberg.
July 1, the Lake Oswego review showcased the college’s collection of Ford Scholars.
July 1, the Clackamas Review, Oregon City News and Southwest Community Connection highlighted PCC earning $4.8 million in federal money to help train dislocated health care workers.
July 6, PCC’s enrollment growth for the past few years was highlighted in an Oregonian article about college enrollment around the state.
July 7, the college’s new Green Technology degree option made news on OregonLive, Newberg Graphic and the Lake Oswego Review.
July 7, the Newberg Graphic reported on PCC hiring instructors to staff the temporary location at the Newberg Center.
July 20, the Portland Business Journal, OregonLive and Beaverton Valley Times reported on David Squire being named board chair and Jim Harper as vice chair.
