Here is a look at some of the news stories about PCC from around the local area and the nation in September. In total, PCC events and people appeared 61 times in the local community or national online media, newspapers or TV/radio.

Sept. 1, the Portland Observer spotlighted the Green Technology Option in Civil and Mechanical Engineering Program in its sustainability section.

Sept. 2, the MWESB firm In Line Construction was highlighted on OregonLive for its work at the Cascade Campus.

Sept. 3, the Hillsboro Argus pictured Preston Pulliams on its front page for its coverage of the new Intermodal Transit Facility grand opening.

Sept. 6, PCC’s recent $4.8 million health care grant was mentioned by the U.S. Labor Secretary in a guest column in The Oregonian.

Sept. 6, the Asian Reporter profiled the Entry Level High Tech Training Program and the service it provides local employers and workers.

Sept. 8, PCC’s new offerings in Columbia County were showcased by the South County Spotlight.

Sept. 9, Lake Oswego Review interviewed a PCC student about registering for classes at community colleges.

Sept. 9, the Lake Oswego Review ran an article about how easy it is to get started at community colleges and how helpful staff are, using PCC as an example.

Sept. 10, the Portland Business Journal, KATU and the Lake Oswego Review highlighted issues surrounding PCC’s enrollment and that of other community colleges.

Sept. 20, OPB, OregonLive, KXL Radio and the Portland Observer featured the Cascade Campus textbook rental project to cut down on student costs and help the environment.

Sept. 27, OregonLive showcased PCC’s big summer of federal grants.

Sept. 29, KEX Radio and KPTV highlighted the CLIMB Center grand opening.
