Here is a look at some of the news stories about PCC from around the local area and the nation in October. In total, PCC events and people appeared 85 times in the local community or national online media, newspapers or TV/radio. This is an increase of 17 percent from this time last year.

Oct. 1, Oregon’s poet laureate and her visit to the Cascade Campus made news in the Portland Observer.
Oct. 4, KOIN TV wants to send a film crew to the next Pursuit of Employment event at the Cascade Campus and OregonLive and KXL reported on the job seeker support event.
Oct. 5, Lucinda Parker’s art exhibit at the Rock Creek Campus made the front of the Focus section of the Hillsboro Argus.
Oct. 7, PCC art instructor is making a difference at Portland Open Studios, according to the Portland Tribune.
Oct. 12, the Newberg Graphic spotlighted the college’s dual enrollment agreement with Newberg High School.’
Oct. 14, the Beaverton Valley Times, Clackamas Review, Estacada News, Oregon City News, Sandy Post, Scappoose Spotlight, reported that PCC is taking the lead in cultivating “green collar” jobs.
Oct. 16, The Oregonian spotlighted the PCC Foundation’s golf tournament with a photo package in its Scene and Heard section.
