Portland Community College is among several Oregon community colleges listed as the fastest-growing, in terms of headcount, in the Nov. 29 issue of Community College Week.
The story measures enrollment from fall 2008 to fall 2009. Colleges are ranked according to the percentage change in headcount.
PCC comes in at No. 33 of the top 50 colleges with enrollment at 10,000 or more. Our percentage enrollment change is listed as 14 percent.
The story also charts all 50 states’ enrollment growth for community and technical colleges for the same time period. Oregon comes in as the 9th fastest growing state at 15 percent. California (2 percent) and Washington (0 percent) rank near the very bottom. The national average is 8 percent.
