Blog: Lawmakers gather at Rock Creek

The Oregon Senate Redistricting Committee will convene for a hearing at 9 a.m. Friday, April 8, in the auditorium of Building 3, Rock Creek Campus.
It’s possible members of the House Redistricting Committee will be present as well.
Every 10 years, following the national Census, state legislatures are required to redraw their boundaries, so that each representative and each senator serves more-or-less the same number of constituents.
The Census was in 2010, so it’s time.
The meeting is open to the public, if you want to see the process.
Chairing the meeting will be Sen. Suzanne Bonamici, who serves a portion of Washington County that also is served by the Rock Creek Campus. Sen. Bruce Starr of Hillsboro also sits on this committee.
