Revitalizing the economic environment in South Portland is the topic of a small-business forum slated for 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., Tuesday May 10, at Portland Community College’s Southeast Center, 82nd Avenue and Division Street.

It is free and open to the public.

The event is co-sponsored by Portland State University and ROSE: Revitalizing Outer Southeast, a community-development organization.

The gathering, titled “C3: Creating Community Connections,” will gather resources that small-business owners need in order to connect better with their community.

Administrators at the Southeast Center are members of ROSE and the forum likely will be attended by representatives of the CLIMB Center, PCC’s one-stop program that trains employees, employers, managers and entrepreneurs to better navigate the economy.

Patrick Quinton, director of the Portland Development Commission, will provide the keynote address.

Free coffee and a light breakfast will be provided. Due to the diversity of the Southeast neighborhood, interpreters will be available for Vietnamese, Spanish, Russian and Mandarin.
