Back in June, PCC student Jennifer Kelly won the second annual talent show Seattle’s Top Model. Kelly, who takes ballet classes at the Cascade Campus, was put through two grueling days (12 to 14 hours each day) of competition. She battled nearly 30 contestants from Washington and Oregon.

Jennifer Kelly can't contain her emotions when learning she won Seattle's Top Model.

A major Seattle modeling agency, several area fashion designers, make up artists, hair stylists, and other industry related businesses, sponsored the event. Contestants were judged on their levels of professionalism, poise, knowledge of their chosen fields of modeling and acting, intelligence, experience, public speaking ability and training, and level of confidence.

“The ladies worked their way through a trying, difficult and emotional process of elimination, from 50 percent, to the next 12, to the final selection of the top three,” said Tom Kelly, Jennifer’s father and a graduate of PCC’s Emergency Management Program. “This consisted of multiple runway walks, posing, and finally answering a series of random questions, posed by the judges. When a comparison and scoring discussion was held between the judging panelists, the final selection was made.”

Jennifer Kelly will be returning to PCC in the fall term.
