It includes more than 150 contemporary photographs by Jim Norman (photographer for The Portland Bridge Book) and the author, along with many other historic photos from the Oregon Department of Transportation History Center.

It relates interesting historical anecdotes of the bridges and their surroundings, a chapter on the development of the Oregon Coast Highway, and a short biography of Conde B. McCullough, Oregon’s master bridge designer, who designed many of the best bridges along the coast and around Oregon.
