The PCC Bond Program is hosting a workshop on Tuesday, May 8, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. in the Event Center in Building 9 at the PCC Rock Creek campus, to welcome MWESB contractors as well as local contractors  and community vendors and connect them with the bond project team managing construction and remodeling projects at Rock Creek Campus.  The networking and information session is free and open to the public. Free parking is available in the Event Center parking lot west of Building 9 (map).

Earlier this year, representatives from the Governor’s Office, the cities of Portland and Hillsboro, Multnomah County, the Port of Portland, METRO, the Oregon Association of Minority Entrepreneurs, O’Neill/Walsh Community Builders, Fortis Construction and NW Infrastructure met to discuss and share practices they have implemented to remove barriers for MWESBs who want to compete for contracts with institutions of higher education  and local jurisdictions.

“As an educational  institution, we welcome opportunities to support growth and development of smaller minority-owned firms by working alongside more experienced contractors on our campus projects,” said Linda Degman, associate director of the PCC Bond Program.

For more information, contact John Persen, MWESB Procurement Coordinator for the PCC Bond Program,by email or telephone (971-722-8426) .
