Vet Tech students organize doggie wash fund-raiser

Photos and Story by

The PCC Veterinary Technology Program and its students are hosting a dog wash this Sunday in North Portland at Club K-9.  The dog wash, organized and staffed by students in the program, is a fund-raiser for the Vet Tech Student Club, which provides students and their classes with animal enrichment items, special projects and groups, guest speakers and more.

The doggie wash is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 30., at Club K-9, 7427 N. Curtis Ave. Club K-9, founded in 2002, is a locally run doggie day care, boarding and training home that supports the PCC Veterinary Technology Program.

The Vet Tech program prepares students to become certified veterinary technicians. Since 1993, graduates of PCC’s Veterinary Technology program have exceeded the national average on the national exam – passing at a rate of 98.8 percent, which compares to a national average of 84.7 percent.
