Building 5 renovation celebrated with beam signing

Photos and Story by

The community at Rock Creek Campus attended a ceremonial beam signing at the construction site of Building 5 on Monday, Feb. 23. Campus President Sandra Fowler-Hill along with a cast of deans, faculty, staff and students ventured into the newly erected structure to sign one of the support beams with colored markers. The renovation is made possible by the $374 million voter-approved bond measure in 2008. PCC is investing more than $63 million to build, renovate and upgrade the Rock Creek Campus. When completed, Building 5 will be the hub of student life and activity there. New features will include a bookstore, expanded food services, study areas, student resource space, a student government area, a multipurpose physical education/dance classroom, office space for faculty, and labs for health and wellness programs.
