Forums designed to get feedback about next district president

Students, staff, faculty and the public will have their chance to give their say on PCC’s search for a new district president. The college is hosting a series of District President Search Forums around the district. The forums are set for:
- 4:30-5:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 1, Event Center, Rock Creek Campus.
- 4:30-5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 2, Room 140, Mt. tabor Hall, Southeast Center.
- 1-2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 3, Conference Rooms, College Center Building, Sylvania Campus.
- 4:30-5:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 4, Auditorium, Moriarty Arts and Humanities Building, Cascade Campus.
The forums are being conducted by the Board of Directors throughout the district in order to obtain feedback about the challenges and opportunities facing PCC in the future. Also, the Board would like to know the characteristics the new district president will need to address these challenges and opportunities.
At its October meeting, the Board will take into consideration the comments that have been received and will finalize what will then become the District President Candidate Profile. At that time, the position will be nationally advertised.

Preston Pulliams has served as district president of Portland Community College since 2004. Last March, he announced his plans to retire from the college in July 2013. He has lead the college through a big surge in enrollment while state funding for public education declined. Pulliams sought other resources to bridge the funding gap while looking for more efficient ways to help serve the region’s educational needs. Read more about Pulliams’ PCC legacy.
